The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Your Season 2 Predictions — And She Has Positive Updates

The highly-awaited Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel arrives on Prime Video this week, and audience theories has been rampant.

The first season introduces a large cast of personalities residing in Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by songs detailing their conflicts, and builds heated competitions and emotional bonds that drive fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season vary widely, but certain threads emerge over and over: Could a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the showrunner commented earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator reveals her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by the production companies, which finance the series.

That might mean fans have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how fast season 2 moves, and how many of what they're anticipating unfolds now.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — particularly in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a couple people create a prediction grid about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
